Authentically South Indian food

This humble South Indian restaurant has been healing Bangkok’s Tamil homesick Tamil stomachs for over 30 years now.

In a quiet little soi off bustling Silom road, Tamil expats along with a very loyal and diverse clientele gather around delicious fish, mutton, chicken and vegetarian masala, curry and fried meal sets (starting at 150B), snack samosas and medu vadais (starting at 40B) sipping Malaysian tea (30B).

The reasons to keep going back are obvious; the portions are generous; the food is authentically South Indian; the prices are extremely reasonable; the place is tidy and the staff is lovely. As in any other no-frills Indian restaurant, think of tacky paintings and old calendars on tiled-walls. Meat is halal and alcohol is not served nor allowed. The place tends to full up at peak hours.
